How it began

Our Executive Director, Diana Vasquez, is an English teacher in Cumural, Colombia. She organizes an English Championships for schools in the area where students use their English capabilities to compete for prizes. Since her husband, Abraham Morrison, is a native English speaker, he volunteers at these events. During on event, the unstable internet caused a disruption of the activities.

As Abraham works for Peplink’s Global Distributor, Frontier Computer Corp, he knew how to fix the problem. He called his coworker, our Founder, Calvin Maison, who hopped on a plane with a suitcase full of Peplinks. With the help of the school engineer, the entire schools network infrastructure was redone

The Response

Other schools in the area immediately reached out to Diana about their own connectivity needs. One school’s only internet connection gave them a 10 MBPS on a good day. Another school was using routers and access points that were over 15 years old. Diana started reaching out to lawyers and accountants to set up a non-profit foundation while Calvin once again filled a suitcase full Peplinks.

And that is how La Fundacion Punto de Access was born

Since our inception, we have been blessed with amazing volunteers, from local engineers assisting with installs to our friends at Frontier Computer Corp lending their expertise in marketing, configurations, and technical support.

We aren’t just an organization, we are a community of like-minded individuals doing what we can to make the world a better place.
